Trendspotting: Velvet

Luxurious velvet was the fabric of choice that captivated our attention this fall. Rich and regal, it looks as good as it feels.  Perfect for the fall weather, many designers, including Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Kenzo, Emporio Armani and L'Wren Scott  showcased it as the texture of the season.


Celebrities have also gotten in on the look, adding velvet features to their outfits, particularly in rich, saturated jewel tones:
Rosamund Pike in a contoured Marios Schwab design that she styled with a change purse and ankle-strap heels; Chloe Moretz in a burgundy and camel ensemble that she paired with velvet pumps; Sarah Jessica Parker in a teal shift that she accessorized with a velvet blazer, statement jewels and pointy-toe pumps.
Soft, warm, wearable and fashionable - there's no reason not to add some velvet into your wardrobe this season.
