Trendspotting: White Pumps

Everyone has (or should have) a pair of classic black pumps that can be worn in any occasion.  Get ready to stick those heels in the back of your closet and swap them out for a fresh white pair:
From left: Rose Byrne in white Chanel pumps with a black-and-silver Chanel dress and a white box clutch; Thandie Newton's white pumps added an unexpected ending to her cropped suit and printed tee; Karolina Kurkova in a striped Michael Kors getup with fresh white pointy-toe pumps.
Black pumps will always be a classic, but right now, it's all about white pumps. Worn with anything from dresses to suits, they are the definition of fresh and eye-catching. And worn whenever you would typically wear your black ones, they couldn't be easier to style.

Outfit Infatuation: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

It takes a bold person to wear a red suit, but Rosie is up to the task:
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley suited up in a slim Burberry Prorsum ensemble at the label's Fashion Week show.
She looks flawless in this eye-catching ensemble, inspiring me to take a step away from the basic black suit and try something new.

Style Idol: Olivia Palermo

You may remember that I originally named Olivia Palermo a Style Idol a while back in this post, but her recent rounds at worldwide fashion weeks, from New York to Milan to Paris, have garnered her enough points from me (which I'm sure is super important to her) to cause me to name her a Style Idol once more:
No one does layering and mixing patterns better than Olivia.  Each of her outfits has (I'm guessing) approximately 100 layers piled on top of her, consisting of contrasting fabrics and tones, but somehow she just makes it work.  This is likely attributed to her polished hair and accessories, which just pulls her ensembles together.  It never fails; she simply always looks great.

Outfit Infatuation: Allison Williams

While I wholeheartedly admit that I love a stylish pair of slacks, Allison reminds us that sometimes nothing looks better than a beautiful dress:
Allison Williams in an embroidered Naeem Khan sheath and patent leather platforms.
BONUS: I found this gorgeous one, remarkably similar to Allison's, for a steal at only $44.00 - a fraction of the cost.  Can't beat it!

Flash of Glamour: Oscar After Parties

I hope no one thinks that just one round of Oscar fashions would be enough for us!  After the Oscars ended, many attendees migrated to the after parties sporting entirely new looks for us to gawk at, joining those who weren't invited to the big party.  Let's take a gander at these (sometimes second) looks.

It seems that the same trends and styles that permeated the Oscars carried over quite easily to the after parties.  There were still whites and blush tones, lots of sparkles and metallics, and the only colors making an appearance being red and blue.  Regardless, the ladies looked lovely, as to be expected:
From left: Amanda Seyfried in a red Givenchy dress (which she performed in during the show); Elizabeth Banks in a strapless Alexander McQueen gown with gold accents, Dior Fine Jewelry and a funky braided updo; Hilary Swank in a crimson Valentino gown from the design house’s Spring 2013 Couture runway.

From left: Jennifer Lawrence in a simple and skintight metallic Calvin Klein Collection gown; Kate Beckinsale in a spiderweb-esque beaded Monique Lhuillier gown, plus Chopard jewels, a Roger Vivier box clutch and her signature perky pony; Naomi Watts in a dazzling black-and-gold one-shoulder Emilio Pucci gown with Neil Lane jewels

From left: Lily Collins in a midnight Zuhair Murad gown, with Takat earrings; Ginnifer Goodwin in a vibrant metallic blue eye shadow to complement her cerulean fit-and-flare Monique Lhuillier dress; Isla Fisher in a cobalt blue Monique Lhuillier dress.

From left: Karolina Kurkova in a cutout Atelier Versace number with neon piping, gold zipper detailing and a sexy sheer side panel; Miranda Kerr in a long-sleeve sheer black Valentino gown with a plunging neckline and sparkly embellishments, plus a Jimmy Choo clutch; Zoe Saldana in a black Givenchy design.
From left: Diane Kruger in a black-and-white printed long-sleeve Giambattista Valli mini; Nina Dobrev in a bold printed Naeem Khan gown, Swarovski envelope clutch, Chopard jewels and a fun ponytail; Natalie Portman in an ivory empire-waist Dior gown with a feminine bow-accented detail, with a unique top-handle clutch, also by Dior, and bright green earrings.
From left: Olivia Munn in blush Atelier Versace and silver Versace heels; Zooey Deschanel in an elegant beige beaded Valentino gown and Dana Rebecca Designs jewelry; Miley Cirus in a pure white Azzaro gown with bare back and pearl-and-crystal-accented straps, with stacks of bracelets.
