Trendspotting: Baroque

You may have recently heard about the newly popular "baroque" style. In case you don't know, it describes works of art, craft, or design that are thought to have excessive ornamentation or complexity of line - an appropriate designation for the trend!

This fall, designers turned baroque flourishes into anything but stodgy. From dresses to bags to shoes, luxe fabrics infused the season's must-haves with a Renaissance spirit.  Gilded, ornate, and plenty embellished, these dramatic prints and accents conjure up ideas of grandeur that are fun for playing with in the 21st century, too. 
 Zoe Saldana in bright Louis Vuitton separates, a metallic clutch and the label's cap-toe pumps; Kristen Stewart in baroque Balmain separates and sparkling Christian Louboutin heels.
