Trendspotting: Tuxedos

Lately, some of our favorite ladies have been wearing tuxedos on the red carpet, and I must say how much I love it.  Menswear on women is such a fabulous look, and the tuxedo look in particular is such a great, sexy and unexpected style for women to rock instead of the expected dress or suit.
Julianne Moore in a slim suit and suede heel; Taylor Swift in a silk crepe J. Mendel suit, statement earrings and gold sandals;Kate Hudson in a white Alexander McQueen suit paired with a lace camisole, gold clutch and studded Brian Atwood platforms.
Admittedly, the women's tuxedo takes a great deal of confidence to wear, so if you aren't feeling up to it do what these ladies do and break it up! You can wear the tuxedo pants like Blake, a jacket like Sophia, or just use it as jumping off point like Rachel:
Rachel Bilson in a sheer blouse with black trousers and pointy-toe pumps; Blake Lively in a crystal Lanvin necklace with the label's white blouse and tuxedo trousers; Sophia Bush in Iro's white tuxedo jacket, leather leggings, pleated clutch and pointy-toe Christian Louboutin stilettos.
I have a few tuxedo-inspired pieces myself, and I always get such great feedback whenever I wear them.

Here are some similar styles so that you can make this look your own:
