Nail Time: Half Moon Manicures

I love getting my nails done, but I often feel limited to styles that would be acceptable in the workplace - no way can I rock a mani that is too colorful or crazy.  That's why I get excited when I see a nail look that's both inspiring and appropriate!

The half moon look, pictured above, is essentially a reversed french manicure.  Popular in the 1930s and 40s, it's back, better than ever, and pretty easy to do.  If you have a steady hand, apply two coats of the color that will be at the base of your nails.  When dry, with a steady hand apply the top color to the rest of the nail, avoiding the circular base.  Or, if you are like me and do not have a steady hand, you can also use reinforcement stickers, shown below.
Done correctly, you end up with a look that is both trendy and professional.
