Trendspotting: Plaid

Plaid, a trend once considered stodgy and outdoorsy has made a big comeback.  As seen at the fall fashion shows of many American designers, including Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch and Michael Kors, it was shown on nearly every item - pants, tops, jackets and accessories - mainly in rich, emerald shades.
It has also been seen on our favorite stylish celebs:
Olivia Wilde in Louis Vuitton's button-down dress, plaid coat, perforated clutch and platform sandals; Rachel Zoe in a plush coat over a plaid suit and a Reed Krakoff tote; Emma Stone in a plaid topper, skinny jeans and leather ballet flats.
Krysten Ritter in a Louis Vuitton plaid shirtdress, three-tone Brian Atwood heels and a little gray suede clutch; Jessica Alba in Ralph Lauren's plaid skirt and black extras; Catherine Middleton in  a pastel Emilia Wickstead design that she paired with a neutral hat, plaid clutch and suede pumps.
What a great, easy print to incorporate into our fall wardrobes.

Here are some similar styles so that you can make this look your own:

  1. I love plaid! Thanks for posting about this trendy topic. I find it interesting that this fashion style has become prevalent in men's fashion as well, particularly the casual, yet chic, long-sleeve shirts with double chest pockets.
